What is business development?

There are so many definitions of business development out there, but generally speaking is the evolution and cultivation of long term relationships with current customers, new customers and influencers that will bring growth and value to the organization.

Business development is not just sales, partnerships and strategy; but includes marketing, public relations, operations, customer care and general management thus is a rather complicated activity that requires people with a broad background and internal teams / departments that can smoothly interact and offer the best service to the stakeholders.
